    The Retarded RZR Thread

I think they look like a lot of fun and have a place. Unfortunately they’ve completely ruined deer hunting in Arizona. They’re noisy as hell and people can be very inconsiderate of other hunters. What most don’t realize or even care about is road hunting is illegal here.

What airline do you prefer and why?

Because I’m under 65 and refuse to subscribe to Clear. Even the first class lane requires shoe removal. I can’t get TSA pre check due to a dumb mistake when I was much younger. I tried to bring a bottle of Havana Club rum back into the US from Europe and it was caught by customs.

What airline do you prefer and why?

I fly pretty much every week for work. I fly Delta exclusively so I can rack up more status. I refuse to fly Southwest. Can’t stand it. If I’m paying for a flight I want to pick the seat. Won’t fly budget airlines either. Mostly because of their clientele. Most people in this world are...

Anyone who knows about stage lighting, please step inside

Not much on lighting but I do know sound. I’ve used American musical supply for years. They carry a variety of stage and DJ lighting and accessories. They always ship fast and free. Definitely worth a look as they have a massive selection.

    Audio hobbies

Not so much DIY but I do enjoy old HiFi equipment. I repair and refurbish the stuff and enjoy it a lot. I really love old tube amps and reel to reel machines. I did make the audio rack and power supply box that are shown in the pics.

    Who makes a Corvette? Really?

I work in the semiconductor industry as field service on capitol equipment. Sometimes I’ll need to find a local electronics store in the city I happen to be working in at the time for electrical pins, fuses, connectors, etc. I always go in and ask for exactly what I need and it never fails...

What kind of lubricant would be ideal for minivan sliding doors?

Lake water. I’d start at the top of the boat ramp and let it go. Best place I can think of for a mini van :ROFLMAO: Of course if you must keep and drive a mini van I’d go with the previous recommendations and use white lithium.

Best Automotive Combination Wrenches With Bite?

Not shitting on anyones post, but making a blanket statement that they are a waste of money is assuming a lot and just as much shitting on someone’s post as what I said. Some of us prefer to only buy things once weather it be for professional or personal use.

Best Automotive Combination Wrenches With Bite?

You obviously don’t turn a wrench professionally. Snap on tools are anything but a waste of money. They’ve paid my bills for many years. Nothing even comes close to lasting as long with daily use.

What disc brake pad spreader do you use?

A short prybar before removing the caliper or a c clamp if the caliper is off. I always open the bleeder before pushing the piston back in. This keeps the shitty overheated fluid in the caliper from going back into the hydraulics. It can also prevent expensive damage on most new antilock...

Who do you rent a car from?

I rent from Hertz. I’m driving a Hemi Charger now. I’m presidents circle since I travel so much for work. Last year my end of year tally was over 30,000 miles. I’ve been happy but lately the car selection has gone to hell. I rented from Avis exclusively for over 10 years but that ended after...

Random photos: Got anything interesting, unique, strange?

I know Wendover Will. He used to be in the center of town with his hand waving many years ago.

    School me on carburetors

In the Arizona heat it doesn’t take long at all for gas to turn to varnish. I’d try running it some more to see if the new gas washes it clean but as Zorba said it builds up thicker every time it’s been left to sit for any amount of time. You can also try reviving the motor and...

HVAC Box, Heater Core, A/C Condenser Help

I’d probably clean and check the old evap core out real good and keep it if it looked good…in my own vehicle. In a customer’s I’d recommend replacing it but give the option. If replacing it I’d buy OE if possible. They’re too much of a pain in the ass to replace if the aftermarket part...

A/C not working when sitting in hot weather

You can always re route your windshield washer nozzle to the condenser and give it a few squirts at stoplights. That’ll cool it right down. I actually saw that once on a customers car.

A/C not working when sitting in hot weather

It’ll have a separate evaporator and fan in the back. If it’s just ducts bringing air from the front it’s not. The easiest way to tell is if you have Freon tubes under the vehicle going to a rear evaporator.

A/C not working when sitting in hot weather

The Toyota’s almost always have good AC. The key is to make sure it has the auxiliary AC option. Probably harder to find one without it here in AZ. It basically doubles the AC capacity for use in cars with a large interior space.

A/C not working when sitting in hot weather

I’m guessing this vehicle isn’t from Arizona and doesn’t have a dual unit with a separate condenser for the rear? Pretty standard option on vans and big SUV’s here and almost unheard of in other parts of the country. Nobody wants to pay for the option so the vehicles aren’t ordered with it in...

A/C not working when sitting in hot weather

From servicing vehicle AC’s in Arizona for 30 years I can tell you this is very common on a lot of vehicles. The oddesy has the same AC system as an accord. Same capacity and all. The van has twice as much space to remove the heat from and isn’t efficient enough at low RPM for places like our...
