new starter

2005 TJ, 4.0 I replaced the starter. Had the battery tested. Good. Cleaned the grounds. Ran a direct negative cable to the block. Ran a direct positive cable to the starter. Put on brass post connectors. Starts sometimes. Single click other times. Out of ideas.

I have a 2000 TJ, after 3 rebuilds I bought a new starter, 2 days old. Starts every morning fine, drive it 5 miles, won't crank. Wait until next day fires right up. Battery new, starter new, voltage to starter- 12, alternator output 13.7, voltage to ignition wire at starter when key is turned to...
