Swapped a '77 Vette for this bad boy,wife & I recently retired and are moving to Salida Co. area thought this might do fire roads a bit better.
The Jeep is a 2000 Sahara, 4 liter man. trans. 1in body lift with 2in . spacers in the sus. has Rancho shocks all around.
also 33's all around.Fairly clean inside and stock.
I've found a lot of good info. here and hope to find more as time passes.

Thanks guys,since I first posted I drove the TJ up to Salida,loaded with stuff,ran ok, mileage kinda sucked,the 4 liter had apparently sat a while.I loaded the tank with injector cleaner,and set out in a head wind(always seems to be the way it works)First tank showed a whopping 10 mpg,after that it bumped up to 15 or 16,pretty good considering alt. change ect.
Thanks for the comments on old Yellow,I had owned the thing for 13 yrs. As pictured it ran a 383 gen 1 small block,4 bolt mains ,roller cam & rockers, a 700 r 4 trans.(over driven) 3.55 posi. Tuned port injection,LS ignition, and as MegaSquirt stand alone ECM. Was converted to rack & pinion steering.It also had alum. Wilwood calipers, And with all of that she had dieted last winter & dropped about 150 lbs. in front of the front tires.In its current tune it would deliver 22 to 25 mpg, and top ended some where north of 120(I always ran outta balls before it did) I'm gonna miss the old dog, but the wife didn't like it so I guess..........

Not long ,swapped the 27 th of Sept. Changed gear box, transfer case oil, checked diffys fixed heater blower(bad resister) and headed to Co. with it.

Than you're going to grow to love it quite a bit, especially once Summer hits!
