2 point seatbelts?

I have finally decided that we will be adding a Smittybilt rear seat to our 2002 SE that had the rear seat delete. Our TJ is rarely used (but definitely loved!)...just as a pure pleasure vehicle on nice days, but we'd like to have the ability to have a couple of friends join us on rare occasions. I have uncovered the center and side wheel well mounting points for the seat belts and wondered if anyone has elected to go to simpler 2 point lap belts rather than the 3 point shoulder harness/lap belt setup, and if so, what wound up working the best for you? (Also, I tried to identify the threads on the Torx bolts for the seat belt mounting, but darned if I couldn't find a match in either my SAE or metric thread gauges--does anyone know the thread on these? I'd like to just clean up the threads before trying to assemble anything.)

It's a 7/16-20 about 1.5" long, go for a Grade 5 or Grade 8.

I opted for the other way, I went 5 point out back since that’s were my kid and his friends ride if he brings any.(otherwise he ride up front with me) You can get a bolt in harness bar if needed for the c pillar

Thanks for the information! I removed the "sport bar" padding and located the 3 point mounts, so I may decide to go that route and leave the (useless) covers off. I wasn't sure how much the 3 point setup intruded into what would be left of the cargo area, so that's what prompted the consideration of the 2 point belts.

I replaced the shoulder side with a buckle from a WJ rear middle seat belt.
Basically a lap belt.
