I have a 97 4.0 with a cracked exhaust header and am looking for an aftermarket one. Any recommendations besides banks? Banks us just a little to pricey for me.

The crappy ones that advance auto sells have a lifetime warranty on them now. So they should replace them in two years when they crack again.
It seems that all your choices want to crack after a couple years. There is one place (can't remember the name, somebody will know it) that has an astronomical price tag, but actually last and actually work to the tune of around 20 extra horsepower. Wish I didn't brain-fart so much lately. 
Can always go the factory 2-3 cast manifold way and just upgrade to the y down pipe. One investment that will more than likely not crack in the long run

They crack due to the engine flexing the header pipes. You want a replacement header that has flexible joints added at the flex points to prevent them from cracking again. Early TJs had that problem, Jeep fixed it mid-99 with a design like below.

I’ve had three sets of aftermarket ones with those flex joints that still cracked. I’m sure the factory ones are much better, but the third party ones will still crack. May take longer...but they eventually will.
Yeah some still will, it always pays to thoroughly read the reviews before making a decision.

You are absolutely right. And I’ve had my ‘97 for 18 years now, so I’ve been through way more sets than the average person. The longest lasting ones were from a fab shop in New Jersey that offered a lifetime warranty on cracking. They lasted for about 10 years...longer than the company. Now I’m back to cheap advance auto headers that they warrant for life too.
Even after replacing my headers for the fifth time, I’m still at less than half the cost of the ones @Chris linked!
Do you know how they warranty them? If I were to get this online and it cracks do I just take it to AA and they will give me a new one?

Haven’t used the warranty on the headers yet, but I have with water pumps and starters before. Basically you just take it back with a receipt and they will give you another one. They will only do it once though (although with online purchases they refund the purchase to your card, then sell you a new one for the same price, so I think you can return it a second time).
Not plugging advance auto, they are just really close to me and generally cheaper than most other places. I always find % discount codes and buy online for pickup in store.

Roger. Anxious to hear what if anything he has to do to make it all work. Did you get the 1 5/8" primaries or 1 3/4"?
