Wife’s 4.0 97 tj ,has been running good till it developed an issue while out country driving yesterday.... ran great for 20+ miles , stopped to clean bugs off the windshield while I left it running in neutral...it ran fine for about 4-5 minutes then got an erratic. Idle, like it was going to die, then smoothed out . Did this 4-5 times... so I stuck my leg in to give it gas and nothing!!! I could push it to the floor several times with no reaction from the Jeep, did this 5-6 times , then finally revved up and was ok , did this again after sitting at a long stop light.. went to pull out across 4 lanes of traffic, barely got into the intersection and nothing when I pushed the gas..... like I had no fuel !!!! After almost getting run over it finally took off... but runs great after it gets rolling..just a history here on what I’ve done recently ( I cleaned the IAC with 2 cans of throttle body cleaner , about two weeks ago because I was getting a very light rough idle at startup and an occasional p0301 code, which I had been getting. Checked fuel pressure and got 15 the first cycle, up to 46 the second cycle of key .. started it and it slowly crawled up to 47 psi... also have installed the heat shields and insulation wraps on fuel rail, as well as injectors after removing them and cleaning them.. swapped plugs and injectors around and issue stayed with #1 cylinder ....... plugs/ wires/ cap and rotor on the way for p0301 issues, and new Delphi fuel pump).. but need to address this issue that started yesterday before the wife gets run over ....
