A/C Recharge

Opinions on a/c pro or something similar? Is it worth trying or should i just have the shop do it?

If the refrigerant pressure is just a little low, it's worth trying to recharge it. But refrigerant pressure doesn't normally get low without there being some kind of a leak so keep that in mind. If the a/c system is empty, you definitely need to go to a shop to have it evacuated and the source of the leak found.

Exactly what Jerry recommended because if there is a small leak you will wind up spending more in the end to fill it than a visit to the AC shop would cost.

Jerry is correct. Your refrigerant should basically never get low unless there is a leak in the system. That being said, I would take it to a shop. It's so much cleaner and easier to do it that way. I never bother with evacuating or recharging AC myself.

Thats probably what ill end up doing. I used to work in a small shop on the side ill just take it to them. I enjoy having the top down and doors off but there are some days i wish i was cooped up with the a/c on. Its my first vehicle with a/c id like to be able to use it lol

Can't blame you there. I think AC is always nice to have when you need it! For that very reason, I'll never remove mine from the TJ!

I got tired of having my A/C clutch recycle so I broke down and picked up a recharge kit from Walmart. 10 minutes and $35.00, my TJ now has Ice cold air.
