Hello! I have discovered a clunking noise when turning right at low speeds. It only happens when I turn right. It may happen at high speeds, but I don’t want to flip over and kill myself. The kicker is that the noise is seemingly coming from right beneath the shifter boot. I’ve checked the driveshaft, ujoints, suspension, etc. with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas? It only happens when moving and turning right. I kind of have to turn left to reset it, and then if I turn right again it will happen again. My short term solution has been to simply turn the radio up louder, but I can’t help but be anxious about an unknown issue. Again, it sounds and feels like the noise is right around the shifter boot. Thanks

I recently saw a transfer case shifter do it too.

Be persistent. You will get it.

Years ago I had a similar sound occurring on my ‘98 XJ and found the noise was the bolts attaching the transfercase to the transmission.
I had had a TeraLow 4:1 installed by a local shop prior to going to Moab and the bolts were not torqued.
