Anyone into today's SpaceX launch?

I did not. I dont keep up with all launches, would have been good to see. When the shuttle launches took place it was well known but the test launches are not as well advertised.

I just learned something new!
Also depends on the intent of the mission, payload of the rocket, etc.

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station
Located adjacent to Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is ideal for spacecraft requiring a west-east orbit.

Vandenberg Air Force Base
Located along California's central coast between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Vandenberg is preferred for spacecraft requiring a north-south orbit.

Reagan Test Site, Kwajalein Atoll
The Kwajalein site was chosen for the launch of HETE-2 because of its required inclination.

Kodiak Island
Kodiak Island is one of the best locations in the world for polar launch operations, providing a wide launch azimuth and unobstructed downrange flight path.

I remember watching a shuttle launch as a kid. Never seen one of these new rockets in person though.

All that info was from NASA so more related to US launches. Something as a rocket geek growing up that always fascinated me and disappointed it never happened was a West Coast Shuttle launch.

Great story about it here: Slick 6
