Anyone running a transfer case cable shifter?

Hey, any of you running a transfer case shift cable in your TJ?
Long sad story - back in May I had to have someone help me get it into 4L as I didn't realise the shift linkage was designed to be only operated by King Kong. They suggested the cable mod.

Anyways it appears I've been running in 4H on the pavement ever since :/ . Today I put smaller tires up front to see if I was rubbing and it super bound up, not just at near full-lock like before. Shifting the transfer case back and forth a few times - feeling each crappy detent - I was finally able to get the lever past 4H to 2H.
Oh, and then I had a rear window hinge break LOL.

Cable shifter works well in these rigs. Current TJ has a Savvy cable shifter but I'm sure there are other options that work well.

I've been running the Savvy shift cable for over five years and it has served me well all 3 times I have used it to shift out of 2hi. My goal is to work on getting my average up to at least once a year.

On a more lively note, you won't regret switching to a cable shifter. It makes a world of difference. One could argue that the TJ should have came with one from the factory. It's a big improvement!

It's all good, he has a very nice rig that he doesn't show off nearly as much as he should.

Just installed the Savvy cable shifter!!! Super happy with it!!
