I bought The Muddog to BE my daily driver. 2002, X model, mostly stock with 31 X 10.50s, 3.73 diff. I don't look to do a lot of off roading, just the occasional desert trail.
But the fun factor can't be beat. My wife and I now have a whole 'nother pastime, just going for a ride. She has her Durango, and we have an old '94 Nissan pickup that has LESS miles than the Jeep as a backup.

I've been daily driving mine for 20 years. It's the only vehicle I've ever owned.
Through brutal winters and far too short of summers, she's been a workhorse with little complaint.

I've been daily driving a Wrangler since 1991, put 188,000 on my YJ before selling, just passed 244,000 on my TJ. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Mine is a daily drive 31s 2.5L 5spd. I drive 50+ miles most days. Now that I don't have to have a work specific vehicle. I can drive what I enjoy and that would be my TJ. Kids are in college Pops is having fun.

I bought my TJ to be my daily driver, save wear and tear on my other vehicles. Love it in that role. It is stock, and if I don't try to out accelerate the other vehicles pulling on the highway it gets as good or better mileage than my others. What is cool is I can park it between two pickups with canopies at work and none of the guys I supervise know If I am at work yet until they get inside. Easy to hide.

Yes I live mine to much to not use it as a daily. I have other vehicles I could use but just can't do it. Only way I will is if Eleanor needs repairs. Then everything else stops until she is fixed!

Mine has a total of 7in lift on 35's with 4.88 gears I have no issues. All in how you build it and care for it.

I guess it's really all in expectations and actual use, say what you want, but a 50 mile commute or 600 mile day ain't gonna be fun. Jumping out of a doorless Jeep Sunday morning at church in the rain after wheeling in the mud Saturday, nope not me. They can be built fine and still not be practical for Daily use. I rode my Harley for 2 years straight in Ohio, sole transportation when younger, I got wiser as I got older.

I do, and loving it. Course I only have about 4 miles to go to work and back and the grocery stores only about a mile and a half. But still I enjoy driving in as much as possible then I get jeep waves too hahaha. Then if I want to go on comfort I break out my Renegade, that's riding in style with all the toys.... LOL

My daily usually is a Santa Cruz Tallboy LTc (5.5 inch travel mountain bike), but iffy weather or lazy but it's a 4 inch lift with 35's TJ. Either way I'm kinda addicted to trail oriented toys.
I was the original poster and I'm glad to see all the feedback. Been daily driving my rubi for about a week and a half now and I'm not looking back. It's too fun to not drive on a daily basis.
No doubt. It's a blast. I'm looking into carbeau seats front and rear now. Maybe a Christmas gift to myself.Who wouldn't want to drive that every day??

I find myself going outside to take my truck, then making a sudden left turn to get in the TJ instead...

7 miles to work 35's /3.5" lift / 4.88's / 11 mpg. I should get a work truck and keep this for offroad but I enjoy driving it.
