Almost done with my ARB install and need to figure out where to mount the LED I intend to use in lieu of using the actual switches to show the compressor is on/error codes. As far as I understand, the only purpose of the illumination wire is to tap into a source that only turns on when the headlights on so that the switches light up at night. It is not needed to run the switches and only serves that purpose. If that is the case and the LED is wired up to turn on similar to how the switch lights up when the switch is activated, if I do not connect the illumination wire then the LED will stay off unless the pump is on correct? If so that opens up so many more places I can put the light because I really did not want a bright blue LED shining in my face when not needed.
