I've been having a problem with my 2006 TJ where in second (sometimes first gear) I start accelerating normally but as soon as I hit the 2000rpm mark the car severely jolts back and forth like those bunny hops learner manual drivers have. I've been avoiding the problem by shifting quickly to third and it goes away although I can still kinda feel it a little bit.

Do you guys have any clue what this could be as I can't get my head around it.

Bahahahah probably should've worded it differently :LOL:. The jolting stops as soon as I press in the clutch but continues once I let go if I'm still in that 2000-3000rpm range. I dont seem to be getting anything like that outside that rpm range

Maybe this is a stupid question, but is it throwing a check engine light?

If in 2nd does the ride smooth out if you are not under acceleration?

I should mention it also does so in 1st in that rpm range, just not in 3rd onwards. And yeah the the shifting and the ride in general is smooth, when I continue accelerating past 3000rpm all the jolting stops and the ride is normal.

There's no check engine light but there's a chance the previous owner might have cleared it as I've only had the car for the past 4 months.

The only problem that I've seen in the car is a potentially leaking CCV valve on the intake side but I doubt that could cause a problem like this
