Can I offer some advice? An old fart to a younger family man? Do it. Do it now. Of all the things that my two daughters remember from growing up, it's the silly road trips to the tire store and junk yards, outdoor adventures, and sailing the boat they talk about most. It was doing Dad stuff with Dad. It had a big enough impact on them that we're taking a four month old granddaughter to Elk Camp this year. The more liberal segments of society would have a screaming shit fit over that, but I hold up my daughters as an example of raising your kids that way. One is a healer, a medical professional and the other is an officer in the US Army with First Group. Hard to argue with the results. No?
I'll take pictures and write up a trail guide when I get back.
