BDS 3 inch / 2 inch experiences

Hi All,
Longtime lurker and first time member/poster. This forum has been very helpful as I consider a suspension upgrade to my 2004 Rubicon with posts like “a beginners guide to lifting your TJ” and “a recipe for an affordable quality 2.5” lift”. Currently my TJ has 2” spring spacers, winch/winch bumper, 265/75R/16 tires and soft top. I would like to correct the rake that is exacerbated by the winch/bumper. As I gather information I am interested in feedback from those who did a BDS 3” front/2” rear spring set. Do any control arms need to be replaced? How about DC rear driveshaft? Other than adjustable front trackbar, rear trackbar relocation bracket, and sway bar disconnects (and shocks of course), what else would be essential?

Many on here will say no relocation brackets I think because of possible bump steer.... adjustable control arms are highly recommend to center your axles over your bump stops you don't need a DC driveshaft as I don't have one with a bigger lift. It's probably advisable for longer brake lines and bump stops too 1 inch motor mount lifts are really underrated and easy to install....I have 5 1/4 lift and just a 1inch belly pan drop with that set up

You are referring to the front track bar, while the OP is discussing the rear. There is nothing wrong with a rear track bar relocation bracket, but ensure that the bump stops are adjusted accordingly to keep the bracket out of the tub at full bump.

And OP, you can safely run the amount of lift you’re referring to with the OEM control arms without issue.

Your list of essentials look good to me. Many people run 3” springs with stock control arms. As GATERTAMER suggests, a motor mount lift would be good if you get vibes.

Welcome to WTJF! I used that BDS 3"/2" combo years ago. Stock control arms and driveshaft. I added the rear track bar relocation bracket and drilled a hole for the front track bar.
