Bestop Black Twill?

I'm going to buy a new soft top next month, wanting to wait til its warmer out.
I, finally, made up my mind to get the Bestop super top NX. I almost went with the Trektop NX. (I'll probably change my mind again though).

Does anyone have the Black Twill? Other than looks, how does it compare to the black diamond?

I am pretty sure the Bestop Twill version is the best aftermarket soft top you can buy. Thicker and quieter than the black diamond. This is the same as the upgraded premium soft top you can get with a JK.

Twill is the "Cadillac" of soft top fabrics, it's what you see on nicer convertibles like from Corvette, BMW and Mercedes. I have a twill top on my BMW. But for my TJ, I'd stick with Sailcloth. It costs less, is quiet, works well, and will last a long time. Plus I doubt my car's twill top would hold up as well to being scraped offroad as my Sailcloth does.

If it is significantly quieter than a factory soft top I guess you could justify the cost. I'd like to see one in person.

A buddy here at work has a JK with the twill Trektop Pro. That material is completely different than any of the prior top fabrics. Thicker, darker black, and seems to be very substantial material. I have no doubt that it would be much quieter on the highway. The thing I cannot tell, though, is how it folds down. Being so much thicker seeming, it seems like it might be hard to work with. I won't know from his JK, though, as the Trektop Pro is not designed to be folded down. You just remove the side windows and/or the back glass...

BTW, the twill material feels more like fabric than vinyl, which is neither here nor there, unless, like Jerry said, it might not stand up to trail events...tree branches, bushes, etc.

It doesn't get any better than Twill. If you have the money, it is indeed the Cadillac of soft tops!

I will have to wait until I have the full damage figures for the engine issues on my soon-2-be new-2-me TJ, but I too will likely be in the market for a new soft top and am watching this with keen interest.
BTW, I deff want to be able to open the front section to let in the light and air on road trips where the temps or conditions are not quite optimal for a full-nudity run. :bath:
