Hey guys I was researching a thread regarding brakes and rotors. and found the following information and wanted to highlight a correction.
Though drilled holes take away from your swept area you are not affecting the braking force because torque capacity is relative to the difference between the outer and inner radi of the pads relative to the disc center not the total allocated area occupied by the pads.
Now pads wear faster with less indexing surface area. Though the benefit of additional cooling generated by the added air flow maintains a higher friction coefficient and will help prevent fade. Not beneficial for jeeps, but for race cars definitely. OP mentions this.
