Should I build up my Daily Driver 98 Sahara or buy an 03-06 Rubicon?

98 Sahara
136000 4.0
30/44 trac lok
5 speed
3.73
2 in lift
Dual Top

Future plans:
98 Sahara If kept 2003 rubicon
Stay 2 in lift 2 in lift
metalcloak fenders or metalcloak fenders
Some kind of locker/lsd in front and rear already have locker/lsd
33x10.5 33 tire
might change ratio to 4.10 if need 4.10 already

You need 4.56 with 33,s and the 5 speed. The Rubicon has 4.10 with 31,s.

IMHO I would stay with the 98 that you have. 136k is not a lot of miles on the 4.0. You have the Dana 44 so go for a adding lockers and regear for those 33's and you will be money ahead.

Keep Sahara, add lockers, swap in 4.56 not 4.10, more lift if running 33's, welcome to the forum.

Keep what you have provided your frame is in good condition. Frame repair\maintenance should be the first thing on the list before building it up further.

Buying used is a hassle and you already know what you have and don't need somebody else's problems\bad decisions.

Keep the 98, regear to 4.56 if you're keeping 33's, or 4.88 if you have any goals for 35's.

I really wish the misleading RPM charts and people with 4.10 and 33's would all disappear so I wouldn't have to correct people in their decisions anymore.

Keep the Jeep. You're probably going to want to regear deeper than 4.10s anyway with 33's, at least eventually.

Yep, with a 2.5" OME lift, some LED headlights, a Warn M8000-S, and probably a tummy tuck as well. I think that would be all I need.
