Since I do not know when the P.O. put these Rough Country 2.2 shocks in, and after reading all the great comments about the Rancho RS5000X shocks. I figured I’d picked some up. Amazon had them for $208 last week, Which I guess is an OK price from what I saw. Part numbers RS55239 & RS55241 which it said was for 2-3” lifts. Install went smooth with my 2.5-inch lift. It took me about 1.75 hours to get them installed. After seeing all the comments about the cheap budget Rough Country shocks. I figured these were POO POO-ed out by now. I was right. Once I got the RC 2.2’s out. I noticed all four of them would not expand once I pushed them in.
Since this is my 1st Jeep I had nothing to compare the ride to. After the RS5000x install. I can say it’s a much more pleasant type of rough ride, which is awesome. The difference is night and day. Of course, when your shocks are blown out anything would be better. But I’m sure the Rancho’s will last a lot longer than the RC 2.2’s did.
