I have like new stock 2004 Rubicon with 80,000 miles with a PO455 code. I was rear ended a couple years ago and after repairs my check engine light came on. I took it back to the body shop and they said they replaced the canister, light went out. Then some months later the code came back. At the time I was really busy with my business and didn't use the Jeep much so I just let it go and put a piece of electrical tape over the light. The Jeep runs fine no issues at all.
I now want to sell the Jeep and took it to my mechanic to get the issue fixed. My mechanic has been all over it and cannot find the problem. By the way he said the body shop did not replace the canister. All he found was a new hose clamp. He is going to perform some more smoke test on Monday. I would think a large (massive) leak would be pretty easy to find. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
