Hello all!
Anyone know of any options for a rear cargo cover? My daughter has a 2003 TJ with a hard top. She keeps the rear seat folded up so we are looking for a cover that can be easy installation and removed when needed. Thanks for everyone’s help!

Are you wanting something that covers the rear area with the hardtop on? They make a rear duster cover but it works with the top off.

As far as anything to cover it with a hardtop on I've never heard of anything. I'd guess you have to have something custom made? Or use some thin plywood and make a cover. Use 2 or 3 pieces so it could be hinged and folded.

That would be easiest but I don't know how you'd fasten it? Maybe snaps?

If it's one of those spring ones it might just unfurl into a friction fit

Otherwise magnets, Velcro, snaps, straps...hell zip ties if you're not planning on taking it out.

I think I like unfurling first and magnets second.

I believe the goal is to hide stuff in the back.

If I go into town I unload the chainsaw, floor jack, tools and recovery gear. Too much theft going on and the county isn't prosecuting anything non violent.

As for the OP, nothing off the shelf exists to my knowledge similar to what you are looking for, esp retaining the rear seat in the folded position.

People have fashioned stuff made of plywood sheets and such. There is a company that makes a steel cargo cover (Diabolical slipstream) but it's (1) more for permanent use and (2) very expensive and (3) not sure will work well with a hardtop.

I think your best bet is something like the Bestop duster modified to fit .. or consider putting in a large toolbox that you can take in and out as needed.

That or Tuffy security drawers. I think they make a rear drawer that fits around the seat.

They make one that goes under the seat and then two that fit where the sit use to be. But I don't think the OP is looking for a drawer to be honest.

They also make this deck for the rear.
