Chassis swap?

I own a ‘97 wrangler with the 2.5. Now i like the 2.5 but its a little underwhelming for me. Theres a chassis for a ‘90 yj with the 4.0 with engine, tranny, t case, axles and all for $1500. Would this be a wise purchase with my jeep or am i just biting more than i can chew

No. Won't swap right in even if it was the same year. That year isn't compatible even if they were the same motor. Not worth the swap anyways. All around no.

V8 swap it, be at peace with the (lack of) power you currently have, or sell it and buy a 6 banger. Those are the only good options.

I just realized, were you talking about selling your TJ and making the YJ your new rig?

You could find a YJ tub to put on it and you could be in good shape. A YJ can be made to ride pretty darn nicely, and they are a much simpler electrical system.
Even if you got an aluminum tub it might be cost effective. However if you mean to create a YJ/TJ mash up, the skill needed to get all the systems to play nice together will be tricky at best.

No i wanted to put my tub on the yj frame and motor

Would have to imagine not alot of items would line up. Would recommend selling and buying a 4.0L.
