I agree with @NskLJ. You could definitely make it strong enough to tow with especially for a TJ but it of course wouldn’t be rated. The welds and mounting system on my smittybilt bumper aren’t anything special and it’s rated at 500 tongue and 5000 trailer weight

I flat tow my Jeep with the front bumper and the rated tow bar is held on with 4-3/8” bolts.

I told you to hunt down the JK gear and gadgets people so you could become their jeep buddies and use their stuff. Renting does suck, I agree. Owning and not being able to build what you want isn't much better though either.

I ran into them this weekend. Apparently the meeting place for my nephew's 8th birthday was also the location of a meetup of a local Jeep group. I walked by him, said "I've seen you on YouTube" and shook his hand. It was crowded and busy so it didn't go any further than that, and next time I saw them they were with their girls away from the crowd so I figured they weren't looking to be bothered.
