I have a 2001 with the rotary dial climate controls. Yesterday I was off roading and noticed my climate control is stuck on heat. If I turned the ac on or the vents to cool air it just stayed on heat. I was in the maintains so it was not a big deal. One time in the late afternoon it worked and went cold with both ac and the vent air. All vents work for changing the airflow like defrost, face, feet, etc. most issues I found are related to vacuum leak not adjusting the climate control vents. Thanks.

Can you pull the control knob and confirm the plastic socket is not damaged or broken, very common with our Jeeps.
I think it’s the actuator. I tried it last night and it would switch to cool air and heat but the actuator motor could barely move it from heat to ac. I just picked up a new me and will be installing it this evening to see if it fixes the problem.
