I just listed my 02 Sahara for sale and have someone coming to look at it tomorrow. Just my luck, I decided to wash it and rinse the engine off as well and soon after I left my engine sputtered a bit and my check engine light came on. It seems to run fine after about 5 minutes but the engine light is still on and the code p0340 is still there. I had my cam shaft position sensor replaced last year. What damage could I have done by rinsing under the hood? And what can I do to get the light gone before this guy comes tomorrow?

Camshaft position sensor. You might have gotten some water in one of the connectors to the PCM. Dry it out and disconnect the positive and negative cables and touch the cable ends together for a few seconds to discharge the capacitors. codes should clear upon reconnecting to the battery. Good luck!

Just run it and get the engine up to operating temp to make sure. Sometimes a code won't be thrown until the engine is warm.
