Anybody have a Kargo Master Congo Cage AND a separate windshield light bar on their Jeep TJ?
I ask because I have a (not installed yet) Congo Cage and I was thinking of buying UCF's windshield guard/led light bar mount, but am not sure if the 2 will fit together.
I emailed UCF, and they do not know, so it appears to be a guess by judging from some pics on the internet.
Why do I want this? I'm sure someone will ask, so I'll explain my crazy train of thought, which starts elsewhere:
1. I'm planning to buy UCF's aluminum engine/tummy tuck skid plate. (pretty much the only option I'm aware of for aluminum skids for the rare 97 auto TJ. I do have several other options if I go steel, but Jerry and a few others have made great arguments for the lighter aluminum - in my situation and usage. But I digress...)
Although I live in Canada, I can drive to the border to pick up parcels - but that's a few hours both ways, so I prefer to buy in larger groups to save $$/time.
2. I saw UCF has aluminum windshield armor. Cool. Might look nice, and can be useful for the couple scratches I'm expecting installing/lowering/raising the congo cage, etc.
My current windshield sides have seen better days - so this would improve it cosmetically.
3. I then saw for a few more dollars, I can have the windshield armor AND an integrated top bracket (for a led light).
4. I do not necessarily plan to get a windshield led light anytime soon, but the option to do it later is nice...AND
5. I can potentially make my own limb riser/bush cables and attach to them. (cable tightly attached to top of windshield and front of hood).
While I've only seen 1 other person in my area use it, it worked quite well for his visibility in the bush I sometimes go in. (we have lots of trees)
And yes, I *could* attach a cable to the congo cage - but that would have to be removed everytime I lift the cage. I'd prefer them to be independent.
I've searched the internet for pics of a congo cage with UCF's lightbar brackets, but did not find any.
I may not be the best internet searcher though.
I'm *thinking* it will fit, but felt it was safer to ask here in case anyone has any experience with that.
