ok so I changed the tstat last night also pulled the bottom hose from the water pump to see inside at the impeller so when refilling I have got a little less than 8 quarts in the radiator ... filled ..started till warm shut off allowed to cool topped off and repeated ... is it possible there was still a half gallon of coolant in the block ...books says 10.5 quarts ... only drained radiator but flushed water thru the engine from tstat hole to where lower hose connects to the pump
