Death wobble again

Here's a video after tightening and the test drive. I couldn't resize the video. I uploaded it to YouTube under David B Turknett, if that helps.

That still seems to move too much, after tightening.

On mine, I did the same. Tightened it, and it seemed better, for about 30 miles. And then the DW hit hard again. Ruined another pair of underwear. ;) Instead of replacing the bushing, I replaced the track bar with a JKS adjustable one, since I wanted to center the axle anyway.

If the inner metal sleeve in the rubber bushing is properly pinched by torquing the bolt, it's not going to move. More torque won't help. But an old, tired rubber bushing around it is still going to squish. A little tire vibration at the right speed, or hitting a bump, can set off the oscillation.

Yeah, the last time I wheeled, it did it 4 times on the way home. Today's test drive was a little nervous about it. I've done a 2.5 inch spring lift, and not really sure how to check how center the axle is. I'll have to think about what track bar I actually need, also price wise. Thanks for your help OldBuzzard.

Another question is, if my axle is centered, do I need an adjustable track bar if I'm not going any higher than my 2.5" spring lift? I was thinking of just replacing it with the Moog track bar.

Not really. A 2.5" lift will slightly push both axles a little to the side but not enough to really worry about.
