Door hinge inserts

I just took my doors off yesterday, and when I put them back on, the door hinge inserts came out, I was wondering if I need to replace them or do I not even need to put them in?

Put them back in and grease the door stud.

I had plastic ones so they got destroyed, should I buy brass ones?

I'm sure there are instructions but those go in the top of the hinge I assume?

yes, they go into the top of the body hinge

What happens if I do not replace the liners?

the liners act as a bearing surface and as alignment for the hinges.
