Dorman or Bartact seat heaters?

Looking to install seat heaters. Bartact says theirs can be installed under OR over OEM upholstery, while Dorman says under, only. I have Caltrend covers I'd planned on leaving on year-round, but concerned the Bartact heaters won't be hot enough. Thoughts? Has anyone installed the Dormans on top of the OEM, under a cover?

It is my understanding that most of these originate from a single source- but can’t swear to it.

I have enjoyed mine and I can’t help but think the temps are similar.

Anchoring the wires and leaving slack under the seat for seat movement and feet catching them is good to give thought to.

I put my Dorman under my Bartacs and they work fine. Definitely hot. I only use the high setting when I'm in insulated coveralls with the top down in the snow.

I installed the Bartacs under the factory fabric when I replaced the seat foam. I haven't used the high setting yet, low is just right for me.
