Yo! I replaced front axle seals on my 2006 TJ last week, then within 5 days it appeard the driver side rear axle seal started (noticeably) failing. I swapped out bearing & seals on both sides yesterday, drove about 15 miles & didn't see any leaks for the rest of the afternoon, as I kept checking. Just some grime dripping from where I shot the drum with brake cleaner.
This morning I'm leaving for work and hit it with a flashlight and see a small oil spot under the tire. I swear I seated the bearing & seal correctly. So either I didn't or, according to service manual, I pumped too much gear oil into the diff when filling it. The oil spot this morning wasn't as big as the two spots the other day when I noticed the leak.
Thoughts anyone? Could it be anything else?
