Engine light blinking

Hi all, in recently purchased a 2005 unlimited, motor stated sputtering and then died, got it started then died again, finally made it home on higher RPM, noticed the engine light blinking

Your obd2 throw any codes?

You need to have it scanned for codes with an OBDII scanner.

In my other cars, a blinking CEL means pull over immediately and shut down. A steady light is ok to keep driving. Not sure on the TJ.

Have you tried the ignition on,off 3 times? It works on my 05 Sport, i get codes displayed on the odometer.

Once it went to 339 it stoped blinking but stayed on

Well you have several things going on there and alot to attack all at once with little history.

....first of all I would recommend you get a obdii reader/scanner.

But if it were my jeep, i would disconnect the negative battery cable for 10-15 minutes, then reconnect.
Drive the jeep as usual and watch for codes as they come up and attack them one at a time.
This way the PCM will let you know what is priority if/when codes return.
