I have a 2006 TJ Rubicon MT. A couple weeks ago, my engine randomly died while driving. It happened a couple times but then was problem free for a 3 hr drive from Georgia to Alabama. I noticed that my fuel burn was extremely lean, as I got 150 miles out of 9 gallons, but returned to normal after I filled up. Thought it potentially might have just been bad gas. 2 weeks and a 6 hr drive to Missouri later, and the problem is back. The engine quits like the key got turned off, no sputtering or nothing. Normally it doesn't throw any codes, but twice out of the 30ish times it has died it threw codes for no SKIM and cluster lost power. When it dies, it will start right back up again if I turn the key all the way off and then back on. If I only go one click back and then try to start, it will just crank and crank without turning over. I am thinking it might be fuel pump but wanted to see if anyone knew what it might be. I took it to a shop to look at (temporarily relocated for work and light on time/facilities to diagnose and repair myself) and they were stumped.
