2005 with I6 and manual transmission. At 2000 RPM regardless of gear the engine seems to get louder. Kind of hard to explain but not a vibration more like an exhaust drone noise. Above or below 2000 by a couple hundred RPM it goes away. Does not happen with the clutch pushed in — only when the engine is loaded.
I noticed that the flange on the back mini-cat is loose to the exhaust manifold. Could that cause something like this? I’m going to tighten the bolts up when I get a second but wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience?
I also replaced fan clutch in November but I don’t think that would just be loud at a certain RPM if it was bad?
