Exhaust while I’m there

2003 tj Rubicon 4.0 48k miles. Replacing the rear main seal. Had to drop the exhaust at the intake manifold, I want to put new exhaust on and clean it up, thinking monster exhaust, but can I just paint the catalytic converter or should I replace it also. Thoughts?

The PO of my jeep installed a Banks Monster exhaust. It sounds nice, but it's loud. You may want to rethink the monster exhaust.

At 48K why replace it? The factory exhaust will last a long time and provides the quietest ride. Any of the louder exhausts will become annoying fast, unless of course you're looking for the sound!

High flow exhaust won’t benefit performance at all unless you supercharge the intake as well.

Buy some Bartac seat covers instead that should satisfy your Credit card spend

Your cat will last for a while. I'd suggest keeping it. As for a cat-back, go to a muffler shop and have them build something for you. Tell them your desired sound levels and they'll suggest a muffler. I bought the Banks cat-back and brought it to my local muffler shop and they threw the entire kit out besides the muffler and the tip.
