Back in my day you didn't no stinking gasoline. Your horse gets tired and you just let eat some grass, an apple or 2 or drink some water and you were off. These gasoline motorized cars are a joke...

I just fill up with gas before I hit the trail.

That is COOL !!! Waiting for the next 1 or 2 generations of battery technology. Should be good for 1000 miles eventually. JMHO

Anything around 800+ is my minimum target as it would allow for longer trips even after the battery degrades a bit over time.

Eventually, I imagine there would exist auxiliary batteries to help get folks to a proper charger. Similar enough to how you're able to transport gasoline with you without needing to bring the entire gas station.

3-400 mile range will do any trail in the country, sure you’ have to stop somewhere to charge for 1/2 hour before going home but it’s still got the range needed to go offroad… not that I’ll be buying an EV anytime soon

The wife and I went to Texas for 2 weeks in January and I usually rent a JLU. But they didn't (Hertz) have any so we rented a Tesla Model Y long range and it was a blast !!
