Although we experienced a few cold days already, we need a full 2 weeks of minus 20 Celsius for the puddles to freeze over

It’s beautiful there, I drove up there back in 1982, drove around the zero milepost, went bowling (no comment), and drove home.

Those holes look pretty nasty combined with the snow/ice. Nice shots!

Great pics! I have yet to snow wheel. Just not to keen on the thought of having to get out in the cold snow if I get stuck. I much prefer to live vicariously through your pics!

I drove from Alabama to Anchorage in July ‘85 (Air Force PCS) , stunning views. After my tour I drove back in January. Probably one of the dumbest things I’ve ever done. Hit 2 blizzards. Didn’t see dry pavement from just outside Anchorage to St Louis. Had a 1985 Isuzu Trooper. Back then the AlCan was almost all gravel. Almost hit a big ass moose on a narrow part of the AlCan with a bottomless drop on the right. I got stopped about 2 feet from him. If you had shoved a Turnip seed up my ass at that point it would’ve knocked both hips out of joint. Goddamn I was glad to see Dawson Creek.

too much information !

i just had a total hip joint replacement on my driverside a few months ago and I got a good chuckle out of your joke.
- a simple task like depressing the clutch pedal used to be reeeally painful . It’s a thing of the past !!!
- it’s like new, not even a grease nipple to look after, only maintenance is exercise, exercise and exercise ,which translates into wheeling, wheeling and more wheeling

One learns pretty quick that these nice flat snow patches are like “booby-traps”
