You say you have a fuel cell with a pump inside your TJ , yet you don't offer your experience with Deep East TX LJ ? Okay , got it .
Just think about these three of your first five posts here and reflect a bit. You obviously realize the benefit of a forum over a Facebook group. Isn't one of them the ability for a future user to search old threads and posts for information? And as such, wouldn't it be a good idea to share your experience (repeat what you shared on the Facebook group) to benefit future searchers?
This is an amazing forum full of very helpful members who do want to help. Like real life, if no one in the conversation has direct experience to relay, the conversation may take a turn and continue, but completely off-topic. The best way to redirect to the original topic is to post relevant experience. So, please, instead of chastising us, what is your experience with noisy fuel pumps?
Same boat as Deep East, installed fuel cell around December with unknown pump that's been in tank for several years. Definitely hums, just a trail jeep 95% of the time. If a known pump is quitter I'll consider it. I tell the wife to turn up the stereo when she wants to drive it to work once a year.
Ear plugs or a better stereo are better options.
The Turtle Box turned up is definitely an option! But, I'm hard-headed and tend to get fixated on small problems like this.
I have no direct experience with noise levels of the various pump manufacturers, but I think some of the other suggestions on trying to dampen vibrations might be the best route. The stock tank is made from high density polyethylene, which is excellent for damping vibrations. What is the construction of these fuel cells? If it's truly a fuel cell, like required in racing, it would have an elastomeric liner inside a rigid container. That liner is also a great damper. However, if it's not actually a fuel cell, and more so a metallic (aluminum, many times) tank, it's horrible for damping vibrations. In fact, it could do the opposite and actually attenuate them. In that case, applying some sound-deadening mat to the exterior could help.
It's just thin aluminum. I am going to try the Delphi I have ordered. But I think sound-dampening is the most-likely solution. I appreciate the insight.

The Delphi was delivered yesterday. It is very quiet and will do the job. I ordered some sound/vibration sheets, but I will not need them. Thanks to everyone for the input.
