Anyone know how to connect a fuel pressure gauge to this fitting? I have gas in my oil and want to check my injectors and this is the only thing I see that I can possibly attach the gauge to.
Well, of course being of the "dumb ass" inquisitive guy I am, I started to remove that damper. No danger of fire, but I did get some fuel out of it. Patience is not one of my virtues. That is a fuel damper. Hopefully you didn't tamper with it, because if it fails, it could spray fuel everywhere and start a fire. Earlier year models have a Schrader valve on the fuel rail and no fuel damper, but later models like yours have a fuel damper and no Schrader valve. There's some billet fuel rails with Schrader valves sold on eBay and you could always find one from an earlier model being parted out. Other than that, I don't know that there's an easy way to check fuel pressure on later models.
I looked at that fuel rail and the only problem is mine has two lines. If I knew how to eliminate the one line, other than buying the sellers filter system, I'd buy it.That is a fuel damper. From the 2004 FSM: "The fuel damper is used only to help control fuel pressure pulsations. These pulsations are the result of the firing of the fuel injectors. It is not used as a fuel pressure regulator."

Link to this?I use one of these if I want to leave the gauge in, any cheap pressure tester that you rent at an auto parts store will have the same basic thing except normally they use two pieces to do the same thing.

It is a 5/16-8mm Late Model Billet Fuel Line Adapter from Nitrous Express. I got it very cheap used on ebay, I'm not suggesting anybody shell out $60 for one.Link to this?
So it had the valve and the damper? Maybe there is some overlap...I bought a used Mopar rail on eBay that had the Schrader valve. I think it was listed as 2000-2004 4.0 fuel rail. Looked exactly like my oem 2005 rail, only difference was the Schrader valve

Both the valve and damper. Visually identical, except for the added valve.
I can't find an '06 that looks like the one I have. This is the closest I have to it. It has both the feed and return connections and the fuel regulator. It just doesn't have the dampener. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2843800916...d=link&campid=5337789113&toolid=20001&mkevt=1I bought a used Mopar rail on eBay that had the Schrader valve. I did the same thing....got mine from Davey's Jeeps. Both the valve and damper. Visually identical, except for the added valve.
How did you get the damper back on after taking it off? I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be serviceableTook the fuel rail off today and found several of the injectors were cracked. Ordered replacements, also removed the damper and replaced the o-ring. Pressurized the rail and the damper held. Problem solved.
I replaced the o-ring, it's the same as the one used on the upper part of the injector. Made sure the prongs on the cap were okay, lubed the o-ring and snapped it back on the rail fitting. Tested for a leak, it was good to go. Why they say it's unserviceable is a mystery to me.How did you get the damper back on after taking it off? I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be serviceable
