I’ve been having some idle issues and removed and cleaned the idle air controller as well as the IAC valve body on my 2001 4.0 sport. There was an old thin gasket between the IAC valve body and the throttle body. It was crumbling apart and probably leaking. While I’m pretty sure this could have been the source of my trouble, I can’t find a gasket at my local auto parts store. I really don’t want to wait to order one or go to a dealer. I’m thinking of using a thin bead of 90min RTV. Seems like it would do just as good as a manufactured seal. Anybody have any thought on this?
