I have a 2004 automatic Jeep Tj and I’ve noticed that when I’m coming to a stop or when I am at a complete stops there is a rumbling/ grinding noise coming from the front of the car. I don’t think it’s my brakes because even when I take my foot off the brake the noise and vibration is still there. I will also add that there is a lot of vibrating in the steering. Maybe it’s my front diff? I’m not sure, any feed back is appreciated.

A grinding noise when completely stopped? It's not in 4WD or anything, is it?

Your differential isn't moving when you're at a complete stop. It would have to be something like the transfer case, transmission, or engine.

When you're at a stop does the noise change if you rev the engine?

No it’s not in 4WD because the front drive shaft is currently disconnected. I did recently replace the transfer case
