When starting cold in the cold, it will fire and not take. I have to hit the starter several time before it will stay running. After starting it runs fine and will start right up. any suggestions

fuel pressure regulator, try to just turn the key to the on position, do not try to start, let it sit for 3 seconds, and then turn off and back on for 3 seconds and off, on again for 3 seconds and then off and then try see if it starts, if it does, it is the pressure regulator/fuel pump. Fuel pump could be having issues when it is cold too. When was the last time you had a tune up? Plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are also problem areas in the cold. Tim
