Hard top wiper and washer connection

My TJ has a hard top with the wiper and washer, however there is nothing to connect to. I suspect it didn’t come with the hard top originally. What do I need to get to make the rear wiper functional? And how difficult will that be?

I am starting a minor rebuild of what used to be my son’s TJ. Unfortunately, it arrived back to me with what appears to be a seized throw out bearing. So step one is getting it moving!

TJs with rear washer have two pumps in the reservoir and a LONG hose feeding the rear washer.
The washer / wiper switch is in the dash on my ‘98. Dunno about other years as some have a multi-function switch and I know nothing about those. .

I have the original carpet pulled out. I am planning on replacing it. While I have the carpet out should I just take the opportunity to install the new harness? I have a bunch of things I am working on with this Jeep, so it isn't like I need the carpet back in tomorrow.

The harness runs along the top of the tub.
Having the carpet out won't really help that much.

You can find the factory switches online - just search for them. You can get both new import switches (copies) or an actual OEM setup if you look.

The harness will probably be tougher - or you can make one and use any switch you want (or a Switchpro for that matter). You can also buy the dual pump reservoir - I did that on my last TJ.

Ebay has a lot of listings for old Jeep parts. Each listing will have its good and bad points, and normally the higher the price, the better the part. I would say to post the links that you are interested in, and maybe someone can respond to the obvious points, good and bad, as well as a price comment.

Just be sure to confirm with the seller that they are from a factory hardtop equipped TJ.
