Headlight harness upgrade question

I have been looking around for an upgraded headlight harness and it looks like one doesn't exist, outside of a LMC Chevy truck headlight harness that people use.

Is this the case? Would the Putco harness for an XJ work?

I have stock headlights (might be sylvania silverstar) and they are bright enough for me. I will be installing a harness for my KC lights when it warms up to 40 and would like to pop a headlight harness in there as well.

Oh, and another thing: I am broke and cheap so I can't afford to have a custom harness made.

Oh yeah, Rancho update: the ride has been constantly improving on my Ranchos until I pulled into Laramie area today with wind chills around 25 below. Stiff as a rock when it is that cold.

There are probably hundreds of pre-wired harnesses around, even KC makes them. Go into any 4x4 store that sells offroad lights and they'll have the harnesses for sale. You can also find them on Amazon.com and eBay. The KC lights don't have a plug, they just have wires you connect to the wiring harness so pretty much any pre-wired relay controlled offroad or headlight wiring harness would work.

Just make sure the harness says it is rated for the total wattage both of your KC lights draw. If you have two KC lights rated at 150 watts each, the harness just needs to be rated over 300 watts and most of them are rated for well over that.

Yes, I see no reason at all it wouldn't work.

Sasquahanna motorsports makes one for a tj. Don't get the Putco one.....it's a piece of crap. Mine came apart when I was installing it. After I repaired it, one of the wired disconnected a week lat r while I was driving. Also, the relays they use cannot be found anywhere.

I just installed LED headlights and never looked back. No harness required, and so friggin bright it will blow your mind!

I have the Putco harness on my xj. It's been flawless for four years. It seems they discontinued the harness for this vehicle cuz I cannot find it on their website.

I mean, if you were good with wiring, you could easily make your own harness. Though it may be more time involved than it would be to just buy one already made. But it would be a fun project though!

Id like to put LEDs on but I dont have the cash at all. As is is I have a dim set of KCs mounted on my Jeep. Hopefully getting a harness for Christmas so I can use them.

Just save up $120 for these Lantsun 7" LED Headlights

They work great and they're so much brighter than stock.
