Hello everyone,
Another TJ from Russia, looks like you already have one here.

Bought my 2.5 'sport' with 180k km (110k miles) in it a year ago. Though i'm not sure whose joke it was to call 2.5 TJ "sport", this is a very fun car to drive and it gives me (and people in the street) a kind of emotions no other car can, especially in summer.

Welcome to the forum! That's so cool that there's TJs in Russia. There is one other TJ from Russia on here as you saw.

Is it a difficult process getting a TJ imported to Russia?

Actually now you cannot bring one in because of emission regulations. It will be possible after TJ turns 30 years old.

Mine was brought here in 2002 from Germany, hence european bumpers, dashboard, lights, etc.

Very cool! I didn't know emissions was something Russia had to deal with. I'll bet you rarely see TJs around Russia though!

We have the same emission standards as Europe, only one step behind like if they have Euro6 something, we have euro 5 mandatory.
No one makes any checks, but to import the car you need to show them compliance papers.

Acrually there is lots of wranglers here, but mostly jk and newer. Tjs are quite rare and most of them have nothing common with stock cars
