Hello everyone this is my first post here. I recently purchased a 99 tj 4.0 (not my profile pic that was my last tj) and my power steering gearbox has developed a leak where what looks like where the lines meet the box. it appears to be that both lines are leaking yet I am not 100% sure can anyone give me some tips on troubleshooting/diagnosing this. I'm not trying to throw money away(broke college student.) I'm just trying to see where the logical train of thought would be with trying to figure out if its the lines or the gearbox.

The leak could be a loose hydraulic fitting, bad O ring, a leaking line or even a seal.
I would wipe the area where the leak appears to be and then spray down with a degreaser of some sort.
Take the Jeep out for a drive and then inspect to see if the leak returns and where .

Hey thanks im working in a small pizza joint right now delivering pizzas so this definitely shouldn't be a problem! The pump looks like its dripling down from the lines but after putting 2k miles on my tj it hasnt lost much if any fluid
O-rings can dry out causing a leak, then get bathed in fluid from the leak and the seal conditioners in the fluid cause the o-rings to expand and the leak stops.
Like was said above, clean it up and then keep an eye on it to see if continues to leak.
I'd put a wrench on them and see if they can be snugged up a bit. Sometimes that's all it takes. Don't go all He-Man on it, just slightly torque down a bit.if anything moves then it could be just vibration loosening up the fittings. Out of curiosity how long have they been leaking? Do you need to be adding fluid to the system?
