My TJ is a 2006 X with a 6 speed. When in 4 wheel drive the front end hops when I turn the wheel. Doesn't do it in 2 wheel drive. Suggestions on what to check out please. Thanks gang.

That's completely normal for it to hop in 4WD when turning corners.

The inner and outer wheels when are turning at different speeds, and when using 4WD, that causes the hop / jerk feeling in corners.

That's one of the reasons that 4WD is only suggested to be used in loose or slipper conditions, and not on-road on dry pavement.

Thanks very much Chris. I very rarely use 4 wheel drive but it's good to know that I don't have a problem. I know that when that happens with a ZJ you have a shot viscous coupler.

Oh yeah, the 4WD system on those ZJs is more advanced. The 4WD system on our TJs is much more primitive (but easier to fix when something breaks if you ask me)!
