How would you handle?

Had some work done on my Jeep. Re gear, tie rod drag link, S 35 and winch install.
The shop had a "young guy" pop a hole in my muffler which was pretty rusted and in need of replacement by the end of the year. While installing the muffler he said he cracked the exaust manifold so he replaced it at no charge. The manifold had a hairline crack in it previously so I told him I didnt feel right about the no charge and offered at least pay for the part which I did. Know after the break in I got it on the hwy and know I notice the damn ticking and suspect an exaust leak. What should I expect or not expect the shops reaction when I roll up tomorrow to point it out.
I ain't always the best judgment of what's fair.

They installed it, sounds like not very well. Be nice and give them an opportunity to correct it.

It's entirely probable they just didn't get the new exhaust manifold seated properly. I wouldn't be bothered or worry in the least about asking them to figure out how to get rid of the ticking sound and let them figure it out. It's likely, as mentioned, they just didn't get it seated properly. It's a big job, the intake manifold has to come off too, but shops definitely make more $$$ on some jobs than others... like yours. They are responsible so don't sweat it.

I’d give them a chance to fix it. If I were them I’d rather have a customer let me know I messed something up and give me a chance to fix it rather than not tell me then complain about my business.

Crazy I hopped in the Jeep to head down to the shop and discuss the matter and no leak no ticking. My wife laughed at me last night and said you will probably get there and the noise will be gone. Gonna drive it around and see what unfolds. Story of my life Big deal, little deal no wait big deal Oh never mind just my brain entertaining its self
