Hoping someone can help me. I just bought a 6 owner 99 Sahara. Surprisingly, it has only been minimally Frankenstein’d. On thing that irks me is, one of the connectors on the hvac pigtail has been cut. It appears one of the previous owners tried to hardline from blower resistor to some wires off the pigtail behind the controls. I’d like to ‘make it right’ while I’m changing out the blower/heater core etc. I’ve looked at the wire diagrams, but I want to confirm what I’m looking at. I’d really appreciate some pics of the connectors, specifically from the blower resister to the pigtails behind the glove box and controls.

I was just replacing all of my HVAC electrical components on Monday, should have taken photos.

Are you able to upload a picture of the specific bastardized connections? I can probably go grab some photos tomorrow.

This is what I took yesterday. I’ll take more in the light tomorrow. But as you can see, that green plug should be to the right of the use box. Additionally, those green wires are coming directly from the resistor which I would be ok with, however, they’re held together with electrical tape, no solder or anything. Just twisted and taped. A short waiting to happen.

I found this picture on eBay and it looks like what was cut was the connector to the left. Just wondering if there’s anything else missing from here

Jesus christ, and I thought the melting HVAC connector I had was bad…..

Ill snag some photos tomorrow when I get a chance.

Im assuming they attempted to repair it but had no idea other than “just wrap and tape” like a teenager throwing their big box store sound system in their shitbox.

I appreciate it! You should see what they did behind the stereo…

Dude, I can totally relate. I have my uncle's old Wrangler. He isn't capable of working on anything but the smooth brain that installed the aftermarket stereo used household electrical wire nuts to make the connections... Wildest thing I've seen. I mean, yeah, it makes a solid connection but wow.
