I've got an 05 with the IAT sensor in the intake tube, PN 56028364AA that presses in with an o-ring. Long story short I'm going to a water/meth injection system and moving the sensor downstream of my supercharger to properly read IATs. The 04 and earlier have the thread-in IAT sensor in the intake manifold, PN 5602 7872. I'll probably drill and tap the adapter bucket between the supercharger and the intake manifold for the sensor. The advantage of the earlier style sensor here being that it's presumably better up to the task of dealing with the engine heat directly, and threaded in so it won't just pop out in boost.
Anyway, just wondering if anybody can confirm the interchange-ability of these two sensors, before I go hacking up my wiring harness. The plugs appear slightly different but the FSM implies they're both 0-5v sensors with the same leads, so just making a leap to assuming they're both linear and will give the same info to the PCM. The PCM being a variable there, they switched from JTEC to NGC between 04 and 05.
Also a note, both the TJ Parts list and FSM are incorrect about the 05 IAT sensor, they show it in the intake manifold and refer to the older PN.
